IN THE HEART OF ROME

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 30, 2014

The Mirage & Halifax is a nice little hotel virtually on the doorstep of Termini Station. It is amazingly easy to get here via train or one of the many airport buss services from either of Rome’s airports. The only off-putting thing is arriving after dark like I did. There are several hundred homeless people sleeping nearby. Once I figured out where the entrance was – it was a happy stay. I had asked for a quiet room on a high floor and they delivered. My room opened up to the rear of the building and it was quiet. My room was ok. It was small, but functional. The bed was good and it was absolutely silent, so a good night’s sleep. My mini-bar was nice and cold, the air-conditioning was good and the bathroom did the trick. It was a small bathroom, but plenty of hot water, towels and mirrors. The hotel is not cheap, but you are paying for the location. Its 160 Euro for a double room per night in high season. If you want location – this is one of the best hotels In terms of public transport in the city of Rome. The staff are also very nice and have free maps and plenty of information.
