Well priced 3* hotel in Rome
I booked this hotel thru British Airways Flight and Nights deals before checking its location. It is 5 mins walk from Termini Station, Rome and was renovated in 2004. Termini area is busy, colourful and bustling, but not particularly dangerous but take a little care anyway. Reception, breakfast room, bar & stairway have marbled flooring. Staff were reasonably friendly, helpful and spoke good English. I saw some pics of beds crammed into rooms in this hotel on the internet, but was pleasantly surprised by my Triple Room (Rm.205). It had modern decor with a comfy dble bed and 1 single plus a marble bathroom. There was no view, just next doors roof, but this was not much of a problem for me. Air-con was OK most of the time, maybe a little 'weak'? Rooms were made up everyday to a good standard.
You could pre-order your breakfast items on a card from your room, but on going down they had no record of my request, so we just helped ourselves to croissants, cheese, cold meats, cereal, pre-packed toast, etc. You have to ask for coffee or hot water and milk for tea, and the staff were not always eager to take the order, but generally were quite pleasant. We waited for about 10 mins one morning!.
For the price we paid (app 100Euro/night in Aug 06), and if you don't mind being away from the centre of town, I'd recommend this hotel, particularly with the rail/bus/metro station being conveniently close.
