www.venere.com is an excellent site for hotels, especially those in Italy. Entirely reliable, good mapping of hotel location (so you can find the Campo de Fiori ones) and valid customer reviews. Worth exploring.......

Some friends of mine this summer stayed in a nice bed and breakfast in campo de fiori. 100 euro for a double room ensuite ... not so much for the area.
Unlucky this B&B doesn't have an internet site, but this's the telephone number: +39066864632
Travel Tips for Rome
Rome's version of a bubbler
by tyerks
In Rome, there are these things on the street with a spout of water coming out downwards. It is drinking water, like all the fountains. My brother and I would fill our water bottles up with it, but we finally realized when we saw someone else do this, that if you put your finger over the opening the goes downwards, the water will come out the other hole, the shoots the water up, so it is like a bubbler. This is kind of confusing (sorry!), but once I get the picture up here, you'll see what I mean.
Ponte Rotto
by craic
This is one of my favourite things in Rome. Perhaps because the name seems funny to me - even though it simply means broken bridge. Which is what it is. One span was swept away in a flood in 1598 and the other span went in the 1880s.
I like it because it would be very difficult (though not impossible) to get there. So weeds grow as they please and birds land there in perfect safety. It would be hard to tell you why I like it so much.
Near Isola Tiburna.
It used to be called the Pons Aemilius. Before it rottoed.
Subway Routes
by TRimer
It is very easy to use the subway/metro in Rome. There are really only two lines A & B (and additional ones to the airports). You can change trains as often as you need to during your one subway journey of course, but you cannot leave a station and re-enter or enter another station for a fresh journey on the same ticket. There's almost no distance limit either - no zones like in London - you can travel from one end of Rome to the other on the same ticket. You MUST remember to punch your tickets in the little punching machines at the entry barriers in stations, on the station platforms, or inside the buses (usually near the rear of the bus, on the left). The punching machines are usually coloured blue on the subways and yellow on the buses, but it's a different machine for the new larger tickets, currently mounted just above each old machine, although still yellow.
Central and nice
by xaver about The old Marconi
I went to this pub some years ago.I didn't eat at that time because it was late and I already had dinner somewhere else.I was extremely happy to find this place again this year as I was curious check their cooking and I was totally satisfied.
They have both local and international dishes and the price are not so expensive(it's not cheap anyway).
For a steak some salad and 3 pints of beer I paid 30 euro. Irish meat, it's really excellent.
The Vatican and St Peters
by biggeorge
Home of the catholic church and a million bloody contradictions , i mean scantily clad girls get spat by the nuns but you can buy beer from the vendors on St Peter's square.
Its a magnificent building with stunning views but sells the crappiest weeping virgin statues and Pope tea towels.
The highlight was the view from the roof and the sneaky way we followed a load of Spanish tamborine bashers into the crypt, ( the evil popes have very small tombs , the good ones are huge)
