Street Vendors Could Be Illegal by avanutria
I was on a tour of the Coliseum in Rome, and our groups was about to go inside. Suddenly several dozen people with big blankets full of stuff came running away from the main streets. Our tour guide said these were street vendors who were not supposed to be in the country, and they were making money by selling merchendise to tourists. Apparently there was an undercover police raid - a guy was there with a professional quality video camera filming the runners, and later on a police van came by to pick up dropped or abandoned goods. The guys selling watches were probably able to run away faster than the ones selling handbags!(Do you like this tip? Please rate it, thanks!)
