Oranges!

For someone coming from Finland where we have a meter of snow in February, it is simply amazing that somewhere not so terribly far away there can be oranges growing in the middle of the winter! I never got tired of staring at the orange trees...and photographing them :)
HUGE Ciambellas!
by Jenniflower
Now this was yummy! And huge... so we shared it. :)
I asked my Italian coleague about them and he said they were popular, as were easy to make and filled one up.
They look like a large doughnut, were stucky as had some suger on top.
Ours had no filling, it was plain.
You get them from stands on the side of the road. It cost us 2 euros.

I used Laura Morelli's book, Made in Italy, on my recent trip to Rome. There are invaluable shopping tips and listings of many great places to find traditional handcrafted goods all over Italy.
I recommend it!
Moto or Vespa
by TinKan
If you wanted to risk your life and have a little fun while doing it you could rent a Vespa or Moto and try getting around town.
There are many folks that use the Vespa for their main means of transportation but most look like they are under the age of 20 so they have no fear. I fo one would not try it but if you feel like giving it a go.....GO FOR IT...!!
