Do we need to purchase a ticket to see the Pope?If so,where and do we purchase it in advance?Or we can purchase it there?Thank you........

Yes, you need a ticket. Audiences are on Wednesdays.

If you google 'papal audience tickets' you'll get several agencies, Here's one:

but there are more.

If you don't ant to go through an agency then this site explains how to get tickets:

If you really want to do this, then it makes sense to book in advance....you cannot be sure there will be availability if you leave it till you are in Rome.

Reggimento Corazzieri

The Reggimento Corazzieri (Cuirassiers' Regiment, in English) is an Italian elite military unit and the honor guard of the President of the Italian Republic.
The unit's history dated back to the late 14th century but they became very important on 7 February 1868, for the wedding of Prince Umberto to Margherita of Savoy when a mounted honor guard of 80 Carabinieri was formed. On 7 January 1870 the Carabinieri Guardie del Re were entrusted with the safety of the king.

It is very common to see them at the entrance of the Quirinal Palace and during the most important events where there is the Presiden of the Italian Republic.

The sunsets in Rome are amazing... I never did this, but I wanted to just make a little picnic dinner with a bottle of wine and go sit somewhere and watch the sunset.. It sounded so appealing to me...

Bus/Subway Tickets

Transportation in Rome is efficient. Taxi, bus or subway is everywhere. Buy 4 or 5 single tickets so when you see a bus or subway and ready to go back to your hotel -- you don't have to worry of finding Tabacchi.

And don't forget to stamp your bus ticket.

Don't be afraid taking taxi, the cab fare is cheap. From Termini to Vatican I paid E10.

Don't miss the Ice Cream in Rome

They made really the best Ice Cream in the whole Rome:)
We like ice cream and sorbets there a lot.

There are a lot of different tastes like banana with honey or grapes.

There are only fresh ingredients! I can't tell what was my favourite taste like there:) All were very good.

It is closed Tuesdays.

Colosseum

Most visitors will probably approach the Colosseum from the Metro or the forum side. As I was staying in Equilino, I walked there (about 15 minutes walk) and approached it through the park pictured. There is also a tramway from Esquilino.
