Best way to move around Rome is to take the underground ! My first advice is to buy dozens of tickets when you can because in most of the underground stop you won't find a place to buy it and automatic machines don't work really well.
With the undergound you can reach the Rome where Romans live, where they go shopping , they go to sleeping !
