can anyone help me on how to get to Piazza Venezia from Hotel Regent Rome (Via Filippo Civinini, 46) by public transportation?
As you will need to take public transport in Rome to get around, it may be better for you to consult the route planner:
It can tell you about the buses or train to take and the time etc it takes together with a map.
The route you enquire about is likely to be Bus 910 direction to Termini leaving from CHELINI/EUCLIDE stop (350 metres walk) and getting off at SETTEMBRE/MIN. FINANZE stop (you need to look at your Rome map for this) then changing onto the bus 60 ( direction Partigiani)
All will become clear once you are in Rome but you are correct in trying to work out the best transport links in advance !
Nige is quite right that you need to practice with the ATAC website. The English support for this section is fairly good, although it does lapse into Italian here and there. Note that the default time setting for the website is the current time in Rome, which means that when I look for solutions at 9 p.m. Dallas time, it defaults to 4 a.m. Rome time - and, of course, the normal service runs only from 5 a.m. or so to midnight or so. There are night buses, of course, but they are a once an hour sort of thing if at all...anyway, I didn't want you to get confused on some of the weird suggested solutions when the problem is that you forgot to reset the desired time of the trip (which I do on a regular basis).
When I lived in Rome, we bought and used dialy an official bus map - a large but detailed map that showed all the routes - perhaps they still sell them at Tabacchi (tobacco stores) and newspaper kiosks...
