We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this 4 star establishment. Very convenient for everything Rome has to offer. The room was very comfortable and spacious with plenty of wardrobe space. The minibar was useful too. The staff were very helpful if a little on the stuffy side.
Stayed here for 3 nights in September 2006 and hardly got a sleep.
The aircon did not function and when I complained I got told all the rooms were the same. I persisted and requested a change of room. The other room also had the cool function disabled on the aircon. This was in a rainy September weekend, it must be hell in summer.
The bed in the first room was a slab of soft foam rubber, the second room was exactly the same. The worst beds I have ever slept on.
This hotel claims to be a 4 star hotel, we would disagree. I'm normally very positive about hotels and would describe myself as having medium to low standards about where we stay.
Whilst the reception looked impressive, the room we stayed in was very tired and old. There was an overwhelming smell of body odour which would not shift despite having the windows open night and day for the 3 days we were there. The bed sheets smelt musty, wallpaper was discoloured and starting to peel. General quality was low and the room was not clearned that well. 2 lights were broken.
Breakfast was a medium size, but compared to breakfasts we had in Venice and Naples, it was a very low standard. The quality of the food was quite poor and the orange juice was very watered down. I am not fussy about food at all, but had difficulties finding anything I liked.
The staff were ok, but not outstanding. The price was quite high for what we got. I would not recommend this hotel at all. Save your money and go elsewhere.
