Try a few Gelatis
by lashr1999
While walking along the streets in the summer, a smart bet is to stop off for Gelati. I tried several shops and flavors on my trip. Gelati literally means "things that are frozen". Italian Gelati is smoother and have more exotic flavors than regular ice cream. Once you try it you are guaranteed to go back for more;)

Rustic charm and affordable price
by gasca about Ditirambo
It was quite difficult to find it, but it was worth it. It was recommended on some guides and we just wanted to try, although average price was above our budget.
We ate a big salad, a delicious pasta (not simply macaroni or spaghetti) for 20 euros each person. I tried "Bread pasta with pesto sauce", mmm delicious..
Take a walk in Rome
by wheellw
Rome is a great walking city. It is so much fun to wander through the city streets (I use this term literally as the streets are often just exagerrated sidewalks). Get a good map, mark out a few must see destinations, and then walk. Although we weren't always sure exactly where we were, we would usually stumble across some landmark to set us right. And, it always seemed as though ended up at the Trevi Fountain. It wasn't as though we set out to do it. It was kind of like the twilight zone. However, there we were. Which was great because we knew where to go from there. Finding the little restaurants hidden in piazzas or a gelato shop was amazing. The architecture is, of course, intrigueing. I remember once we stumbled across a church. When we went in there was some major art in there. We never would have found it if we had actually been looking for it. It was a wonderful adventure walking the streets of the inner city of Rome.
