Hello to all VTers!!

These are all in central Rome and I suggest to call them in advance to book any treatments you wish to have:

Tel. 06.6875251

Acanto Spa

AcquaMadre Hammam

De Russie Wellness Zone

I can personally vouch for the spa at the Hilton Cavalieri. It is wonderful. Call ahead for appointments.

Hi Antonio! Haven't seen you on the boards for a while! Nice to see you back.

Travel Tips for Rome

Dress up and wear sunglasses

by jurkka

if you want to blend in, you need to have really nice clothes. Romans like to dress well. NEVER were shorts unless the temps are really over 30C!
Wear sunglasses, and do not speak out loud.

This way you will easily spot the pocket thieves in jammed up busses, when you stay alert and look people in their eyes. I had no trouble, although I used bus 64 almost daily. I dressed up as i could and always wore sunglasses- and first spotted the possible pocket thieves that were looking around them. Locals stay focus and are not interested in other people in busses.

Visit the Top of St. Peters. ...

by feline01

Visit the Top of St. Peters. It's a 330 step climb and well worth it. Many people don't seem to bother but the views are amazing. And if you drop dead on the way up, you're already nearby hundreds of priests!!!

The Roman metro is probably the crappiest metropolitan transport system in Europe, there are only two lines which are frequently overcrowded (Asia-style overcrowded), the trains are dirty and many parts of the city don't have Metro stations at all. That said, i found it all quite charming actually, Rome is chaotic and i wouldn't want it any other way. And tickets are cheap, 1€ for 75 min, also valid on buses or trams. Buses are necessary because of the poor Metro net, but are only advisable outside the rush hour, otherwise you're faster on foot.
Don't even think about bringing your car to downtown Rome, a scooter is the only sensible private means of transport in this city.

Ice-cream and Pizza

by Tetreus

In ' Baby Dixie's ' Via Dario Niccodemi,38 in
ROMA you can get the best Pizza con mozzarella di Bufala.

Our favourite chinese restaurant in Roma is Giada in where Via IV Novembre merges in Piazza Venezia ... it is increadibly good and cheap!!!!!

The ice-creamshop at Piazza di Roma 'Procopio', definitely the best ice-cream of Roma. But don't forget to go also to 'Giolitti', very close to the political core of the city ...

La piu bella piazza de Roma!

by biloune

This is a long place... superb place... with 3 fontains. Of which the "fontaine des quatres fleuves". Lot of people are walking on, day and night. Merchants and terrasses share space on this beautifull place.
Spend time at this place and you will feel good and you shall really taste the roman touch!
After, don't hesitate to walk on the little streets on the right or on the left. Don't eat there but go on on these streets, the pubs with young roman are waiting for you!
