Hotel before/after Rome cruise
In October 4 Couples were arriving a day early for a cruise out of Rome (Civitavecchia) Italy and needed a place to stay for one night. Hotels at the airport are very expensive and there is nothing to do there. It is a clean, older resort/hotel right on the Mediterrean Sea. Our very reasonable lodging including an Italian style breakfast (cold cereal, rolls, yogurt, juice, coffee, rolls, etc) We were given rooms on the sea side of the hotel and at 4 am (can't sleep due to time change) I was able to look out my balcony at the moon shining on the water. We did pay in advance and one couple, unable to attend, was given a 50% refund from the travel agency, not hotel.
Unique Quality: Lovely views, able to walk (2 miles) to town along a marina with many restaurants, etc. town Town area is old with much history. Very picturesque. Not fancy but thoroughly enjoyed by our group. We were able to enjoy wine which we had purchased elsewhere on the balcony.
