Ancient fountains by Jenniflower
Some of the fountains in Rome are centuries old, while others are alot newer (although OLD by our standards! haha). It is hard sometimes to guess their age by the amount of graffiti on them unfortunately, thankfully I didn't see too much of this though.
Some are operated with a button that you push, while others flow continuously into ornate bowls and cisterns carved from stone or marble.
There is hardly any wastage of water.
