Breathtaking scene from Tempio di Giove, Terracina
by unravelau
Definitely travel to the Temple, experience the atmosphere and photograph the scenery...........if its a clear day you will get magnificent pictures. Its a place of wonder really. How could the Romans have built the Appian way here when they had to split the mountain............without modern day tools etc. Just amazing.
Terracina - Beachside small town
by prasadp77
Terracina is small town, 2 hours on train from Rome.
When I first decided to visit this place, I had hard time to find travel route so putting that info here.
If you are in Rome, you can take Napoli bound train, hop off at Monte San Biaggio. To almost every train, there is connected bus to Terracina. (You can very well get this info, if you are in Rome but if you are planning from outside, this should be helpful)
Alternatively, there is bus service available as well from Rome but train is lot more comfortable, quick and frequent.
As far this town is concerned, I did not find anything special apart from pretty good beach for sun bath lovers. As far as my guessing goes, whoever goes there, goes for beach, otherwise nothing special about this small town.
There is one old castle like thing is there at the top of mountain just off the town, Its worth visiting that place if you happened to visit Terracina but it is not worth visiting this place for that castle.
