Ancient City of the Estruscans
"Viterbo"
The name "Viterbo" is derived from "Vetus Urbo", which means "Old City". This was a center of the Etruscan culture, which pre-dates even that of the ancient Romans. Not much is left of it, but Viterbo has a very well-preserved medieval quarter at its core. In addition, it has some fine Romanesque churches and nearly all of its medieval walls. This is a great place to spend a day.
