Old Glory
We stayed in this hotel during a tradefair in Genoa. It is a good location to travel to and from the fair and many business people stay here during the off season.
The hotel is one of the largest buildings in Arenzano, a neo-renaissance building along the seaside. It was refurbished in 1995. The room was clean and reasonably sized. The bathroom was also clean and could be a little bigger, but a shower, toilet, bidet and fountain easily fit in.
The outside looks very luxurious, but upon entering the lobby that feeling is gone. The lobby is a large empty space with a desk. No atmosphere at all.
The two elevators are small and carry not more than two people is you have luggage with you.
The restaurant serves great food, but lacks atmosphere. The breakfast buffet served in the same restaurant was good. The usual bread, cheese and meat, sweet spreads, boiled eggs, fruit, yoghurt and cerials.
The bar is not very attractive and on top of that we had to ask at reception if somebody could serve us after waiting over 20 minutes with no person behind the bar.
Our verdict
A good hotel for a business trip to Genoa, but we would not give it the 4 stars it is.
