What a wonderful place to stay. Not only is the hotel literally in the center, you are steps away from the Ducal Palace, Church, and Old Town. When you walk and and stand at the reception desk, the view of the oval stairs leading up to the sixth floor is bar far the most beautiful staircase I have ever seen in my entire life. Breathtaking, just see the photo! We were four people and had two rooms. The first room had double doors as an entry (most rooms do) and when you walk into the room, first you have a sort of "reception room", with a place to place shoes, hang coats, etc. Then you walk into the main bedroom, which is absolutely huge and really looks like the room of a wonderful palace, with incredibly high ceilings, and it was really furnished like Versailles or Schoenbrunn Palace. The bathroom was amazing with marble everywhere, there was a completely separate sitting area, more like a salon, connected to the sleeping quarters. Really nothing I could write here would prepare you for such a beautiful room. On the other hand, the 2nd room we had was about the size of the bathroom in the first room and after seeing the first room, we really felt like we were sleeping in the servants' quarters. It was not bad, but it was small. If you sta here, ask for one of the rooms with double doors so that you are not disappointed!
Unique Quality: Another wonderful feature of this hotel was the breakfast room, it was absolutely beautiful and you'll want to be sure to take our camera
Directions: In one of Genoa's main streets steps away from the Ducal Palace
Absoultely beautiful! The nicest hotel I have ever stayed in (it even tops the W in New Orleans). We had a huge room with an enourmous balcony - fantastic view (Photo 1)! Real antique furniture in the bedroom, windows the size of doors.
No idea what the cost of the room was since it was included in our cruise package. We certainly were not expecting something this nice!
Unique Quality: I don't know if every room has a balcony, but ours was simply amazing. The breakfast was good too. It's worth staying here simply to see the stairway (Photo 3 & 4)!
Directions: A lot of shopping in the area, and just down the street from a huge fountain (photo 2).
