Shopping & surfing

I have an almost pathological hatred of shopping : especially when it is for 'girlie' things like clothes, linen and housewares.
My wife assures me that the 'Coin' chain of shops in Italy have good range of merchandise and are reasonably priced.
As I don't know my arse from my elbow in this department, I couldn't really comment - but the Coin store in Via Roma does have one big plus point...it has a small internet section where you can hook up to the www and thus VT for only 2 euro an hour.
Thus was affected a perfect compromise !
Watch out for the great " fake fassades "

When walking through Genua, have a look for the many lovely details to be found - and you will see, how the rich merchants, who mostly made their immense prosperity by oversea-ship-trading, put their money into their wonderful palaces...
...on this fassade EVERYTHING except the small baldachin is simply painted on a completely flat wall. And even when you stand there pretty close to the building you get the feeling these painted sculptures and benches are real.

Really it would be better to say to meet the three cities of Ventimiglia. The first one, archaeological, of Roman epoch is put in it oriental departs of the modern city and it is an example of museum to open sky.
Tall on the fortress the medieval Ventimiglia dominates the Right Bank of the Roia River. It is distinguished from far because of fits mighty enclosure of boundaries, his cathedral of Assunta, the baptistery to octagonal plant and the convent of the Canonichesses lateranensis.
Between these two rises modern Ventimiglia. In the center city elegant buildings with their eclectic style, furnished shops, tourist services, hotel and place for fun, beaches, promise holiday boredom.
a good spot for a panorama view

In Italy, as many countries in europe I assumed.. the houses locate higher on the hill are much expensive than those ones in lower area.. normally people who are rather rich will be living there.. unlike in China or Brazil.. things could come into a contrary... interesting world..
We ran into an old local lady, she told us there was a viewpoint on the hill which offers a good panorama of the city.. we were lucky to meet her.. the view was truely beautiful.. on the way down i had a strawberry sorbet in the cafeteria.. made my memories even sweeter

Most of the city is easy to walk around, but, for travelling a little further afield the bus and regional train service is good. A day ticket, bought from the kiosks on almost all street corners, costs €2.58 and can be used on the bus, regional trains within the city, lifts and funiculars. A ticket for a single journey is €0.77 and valid for 90 minutes.
