We didnt stay here so we cannot tell you about the real experience.
We tried to make a booking for our old parents 80 and 70 years old.
The reception was not so lovely as written in the rest of the comments.
Our parents needed a little help but on everything we asked "not possible"
not a YES and WELCOME!
We didnt get the lovely athmosphere what was written in virtual tourist.
Charming, Unique Hotel (Great Value!)
This is a two-star hotel with three-star rooms in a four-star location! Located just a few blocks away from the heart of medieval Genova, this hotel is close to the city’s most important tourist attractions including the Aquarium (a five minute walk), the Ducal Palace and Accademia Ligustica (both a one minute walk) and the palazzi of Via Garibaldi (a five minute walk). It can be reached by foot from Brignole station in about fifteen minutes, simply by following via XX Septembre. Many Genovese hotels are located in dark, narrow alleys but this hotel felt safe and secure as it was on a wide, well-lit street just off a major piazza. We loved the interior of the hotel, which featured eclectic decorations like a chest of drawers made from an antique trunk, pink and white striped walls and maps of Jamaica in the halls. Our room and bathroom were small but clean and cozy, and we didn’t hear a sound all night (in second-floor room #4 we faced the side of the building). In the morning we were offered a light breakfast of pastries, juice and coffee from a machine. Our double room cost EUR 90 in February (low season).
I can't recommend this hotel enough!
Unique Quality: Safe, safe, safe feeling and uniquely decorated! Great value!
Directions: One block south of Piazza de Ferraris (at the end of Via XX Septembre)
a friendly, joyfull place
nicely styled room, simple but designed with love
Unique Quality: the individual athmosphere an the roof terrace on the 7th floor with its view over the city
Directions: just near the Porta Soprana at the entry of the old city. price about 80? for a twin room
Charming, cosy and well located.
I had noticed that this hotel was recommended by titti and as it seemed to be good value for money, we booked it through Venere. We loved it - it is one of the most unusual hotels we have stayed in.
thanks to Cristoforo Colombo ....
A highly recommended cosy hotel, in the heart of the city, where it’s not easy to find your room number on the door, since it appears many times, written in gold across the whole door surface; where it could happen to sleep in a golden framed bed under the golden, bluish wings of a butterfly (or was it an angel?) stuck on the wall, over your head; where the bathroom is furnished with lovely, small, ducks peeping at you from their pale blue frames; where, looking in the mirror, you’ll see your face framed in gold, for you to start thinking: “Oh! What a cute, pretty girl I am”; where, all night long, your dreams will be haunted by a hallucinatory pigeons concert; where in the morning, before leaving, you’ll realise your mind is a bit messed up and you wonder why...
Unique Quality: golden frames
Directions: "Hotel Colombo is placed in a strategic position in the very strategic centre of the town. Few steps form the historic Cristoforo Colombo house few steps from the main tourists interest points." (from the website)
