Something I enjoyed while strolling through La Spezia was the architecture, both in the city as well as in a residential neighborhood that we passed while going up the way to the castle.In the case of city?s streets near the sea, the buildings are big and imposing, most of them with carved details. In the villages where I had been previously something I found curious is that buildings are not carved but painted and some of them even look like real carvings made in stone!!
The residential neighborhood near the castle has some beautiful villas, from which you enjoy a most pleasant view over La Spezia ?downtown? and the sea.
