Hostel up the mountain

Our stay at Ostello Tramonti was rather pleasant. The rooms are fine-- 4 bed dorms-- and the bathrooms and breakfast (not included, but cheap) are pretty good. Good price, good service (although the English they speak isn't the best, it works for getting by), great value. Definitely the place to stay on a budget, and the people are always adventure-seekers, because they come for Cinque Terre.

Unique Quality: The hostel used to be an elementary school, which is pretty interesting, but it transformed nicely into a hostel. The location is the only downer, and even then it still has its charm-- the town it's in is up in a nearby town high up the mountains northeast of La Spezia, and it's a *** of a walk (2 hours uphill). Fortunately, they have a bus schedule for both to-from the town of La Spezia to the hostel, and to-from Cinque Terre Parco Nazionale.
