The beach

This is how the beach i Lévanto looks like.
The sea is turquoise, it smells wonderfully, and the beach is mostly with pebbles, but there are sandy parts, too, the rocks and little little almost sandy pebbles.

Foam

On the rocks the sea will splash (the waves dasshing against the shore) creating white foam over the rocks. I love to watch that. If you like it too, then go to the end of the beach where the rocky area begins, as you won't find it on the main city beach (the one overcrowded with beds and umbrellas).

Levanto - porta di Cinque Terre

Levanto is perfect as a base when you visit Cinque Terre in Liguria. It´s a small town with camping, B&B, hotels. Very nice people, nice food and a wonderful town. Try the Grappa and the local white wine, miracoloso!!

You reach the town by train, bus, car or take a walk......over the mountains of olives and grapes.

If want you can sit under the stars and look at a movie in the outdoor cinema.

In the town there are lots of lovely houses. Take time to see and feel them.

"Camping Pian di Picche - Levanto"

We have visit this very nice camping in Levanto since 1987. This area was until 1986 a olivegarden where the family grows olives. They decide to take down the olive trees and start a camping site!

Good service, nice people, very clean and just 15 minutes from the town center, the station and the beach.

Very close to the Cinque Terre

If you want to visit Cinque Terre I recommend that you stay in Levanto . It is only a short walk or train ride to see the 5 towns. I really liked the beaches, the best in the area and the town had much more to do than the Cinque Terre towns. I have read that Levanto is an Italian tourist town. The out of country people tend to go to Cinque Terre, the Italians to Levanto.

"Downtown Levanto"

I think there is a lot more to do in Levanto than the other towns of Cinque Terre. Great beaches and restaurants in Levanto, plus you can drive to Levanto and park your car.
