The Sea
by Aurorae
The sea at the beach is quite different, depending from where you positioned yourself. In the "open sea" beaches (those unprotected by huge molos) you'll always find big waves and very upset sea, that will roll the pebbles and sand and make the entrance a bit murky. If you don't like to swim in the very wild sea, this would not be a place for you.
There is one small section of the mini beach at the end of the city, where marina ends, where is a lovely beach protected by the looooong rocky molo that blocks the waves, so the interior is vry peaceful. Especially suitable for kids.
Turquoise
by Aurorae
When the sun comes up, the sea has enchanting turquoise colour! It changes to lead when it's cloudy, unfortunately...
The rock that you can see far behind is a favourite spot for diving, however, it's fatal as on the top of it there is a vase with flowers with a note for someone who died jumping from it. So, be careful!
Much better use is to just sit there and observe with binoculars, as many are doing.
Forget about Levanto, look for Ridarolo
by Laerke
Staying in Ridarolo with my boyfriend turned out to be one of the best things we did visiting Italy. It was like a dream come true.
Nevertheless, the first night was horrific. Never have I witnessed such a storm. The thunder sounded as it was right in the next room. Next day the day was clear as if nothing had happend. Anything goes in the mountains.

"A gate to Cinque Terre"
Lévanto is a lovely, litle town at the Ligurian sea, just in front of the famous resort of Cinque Terre.
There is a very big pebbled/sandy beach with rocky molos, and the sea is clear, but a bit wavy.
The town is rather big, and you can find everything you need in there.
Near the beach there is a tourist information office, and inside you can get all the info.
