Piazza behind Stella Maris
We could look down on the Piazza Cavour from our room. In the evenings most of the town would visit the Piazza. Kids on their bikes, and generally whole families enjoyed the evening here.

Great Location
The Hotel Stella Maris is located on the second floor of this bank building. Our room was in the back, overlooking the town square. The back rooms do not have the street noise. The Hotel Stella Maris also has an annex where the rooms are much cheaper and have airconditiong.

Great Location
We stayed 4 nights at the Stella Maris and for the most part were very happy.
The only really bad point was that you were forced to pay for dinners if you stayed there. That would have been fine if the food was good, but it wasn't. It was just OK not the typical fabulous Italian food. In the mornings, breakfast, they would come by your table and ask you to choose between three dinners. They would stand impatiently while you made up your choice from the 3 choices. The wine they served was from a machine like a soda machine...., Yuk!!!! I couldn't believe we were drinking wine from a machine..... We then resorted to ordering wine by the bottle (expensive).
Unfortunately, it wasn't until our third day of our stay that we decided to just pay the extra 100 Euros a day for the food and go out to eat elsewhere. We did find some excellent restaurants and started enjoying the great Italian food in the area. Too bad we had to waste all the money on the hotel's food... Never again will we be forced into paying for the full board.
The rooms were very nice and ours had a view of the square in the back of the hotel. The location of the hotel was excellent, right in the center of town. They had private parking for us which was very nice (but expensive)
Overall, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The owner/elderly lady. heard us coming up the flight of stairs and insisted on carrying my bags up the stairs, very embarrassing. I would stay again just because of location and the staff, only I would eat out..
