We stayed just one night at the Grand Hotel Portovenere. It is slightly dated, but the rooms are clean and comfortable and have plenty of space and high ceilings. If you come into town by bus the hotel is directly opposite the bus turn around point - easy to miss if you are busy looking out over the water. Portovenere is a very small town, and it would seem the Grand is the only large hotel there. Breakfast was good with a selection of cold meats, fruit, cheeses, cereals and breads. And there is a great view over the town and water from the hotel restaurant. If you are used to chain hotels I would recommend the Grand.

I booked the hotel by internet with booking.com. Instead of the room i received the suite. The suite was big with a good bedroom and another room where you can put bags and relax on a sofà. There were all the facilities for shower and relax into the room. There is an amazing view in this hotel! Ask for the view on the harbour 'couse it's really amazing. About the room i can say that the bathroom is really small (expecially for a 4 stars hotel). People that works into the hotel are absolutely friendly and they try to give you all the comfort. The SPA is not into the hotel but in a building outside and so i didn't try it. Anyway it's not cheap even if at the reception told me that you can pay less 'couse guest of the hotel. I didn' try the restaurant inside the hotel. They can make you a ticket for parking the car and you can choose to park or into the streets or into a garage. I choosed into the streets and i payd 12 euro per day that is not so much.
