Hotel L'Approdo, Rapallo, Italy - Reviews and Hotel Information

My family and I stayed in 3 rooms at the Hotel L'Approdo in early April 2007. Riccardo is the humble owner and operator of the hotel and he goes out of his way to make your stay exceptional from check in to check out. Be sure to ask him about places to eat in town, what ever you are looking for her will steer you toward the places where the locals eat so you won't have to pay tourist prices and you will get great food.

The rooms are very clean and compact (eurosized) with comfortable beds and modest sized bathrooms. The building has top quality doors and windows with motorized shutters to keep the rooms quiet and temperature controlled. Our room on the 4th floor had a nice view of the water.

The hotel is located on the main road between Santa Margharita and Rapallo. If you are brave enough to face the trafic you can walk into Santa Margharita in about 5 minutes. The only drawback about the location is that the road is narrow and there is no sidewalk for the first 1000 meters from the hotel. If you drive DEFINITELY reserve a parking space (if you need to ask why you should not be driving in Italy).

Breakfast is outstanding with pleanty of fruit, cereal, juices, pastries, meats and cheeses. As expensive as food is in this region, you'll find the breakfast a great deal and you'll get the high fibre foods lacking in the local cuisine.

There is a small gathering room in the lobby where Riccardo will fix some of the best coffee with his special cappaccino machine and serve it any way you like it (watch out Starbucks!) And did I mention the price can't be beat anywhere in town.

There is also a nice outdoor covered seating area for relaxing and taking in the beautiful weather in the mild months. While we were there, the weather was just beginning to get warm so the outdoor areas weren't as inviting as they would be in the summer.
