A liitle town with a big literary history
Ezra Pound lived here for many years (his mother is buried here) and Yeats was a frequent visitor. And Max Beerbohm lived here too.
A friend who is a local has written a little book to guide you around the town to the local literary hot spots. It is available at the tourist info centre.
The first time I saw this fort out in the harbour I thought - The captain's tower.
Because of the Bob Dylan song - "And Ezra Pound and T.S. Eliot are fighting in the captain's tower."
