Backpackers paradise!!!!

My friend and I(both females in our mid 20's) had been backpacking in Europe for about a month and we thought we had found paradise when we arrived at Il Borgo di Campi! We had our own private room it beat staying at a hostel by a million! The restaurant upstairs is delicious and everyone is so friendly!

Getting to and from the villages was super easy because there is only one bus. You can't miss it because it's the only one. WARNING--I think the last bus left from Rio at 6pm so I don't recommend partying it up at a bar and trying to make it back. DON'T MISS THE LAST BUS!

All in all it was fantastic and we absolutely treasured every moment we had there! I would recommend it to anyone and everyone who enjoys beautiful views and italian food!

cute little hotel just out of Riomaggorie!!

This hotel is 4km out of the town but the rooms, views, staff, restaurant are worth it!!!

Unique Quality: Accomodation was quite affordable and rooms were great with kitchenette also!

  • Opinion of Price: less expensive than average

Recommendations for inexpensive but decent hostel accommodations in Cinque Terre- travelling alone there this May

Accessible to public transportation and safe

Hi,
a good accomodation is 'Ostello Tramonti' located in Biassa (very closed to Riomaggiore).

This is the web site http://www.comune.sp.it/ostello_tramonti/index.htm.

From here is available the bus service to Riomaggiore (stop just in front of ostello).

It costs something like € 20 per person.

Ciao

We stayed at Il Borgo di Campi - a nice little place which is 5mins by bus from the centre of Riomaggorie...

This hotel is 4km out of the town but the rooms, views, staff, restaurant are worth it!!! & very safe... hotel is on cliff face... see my page http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/cabcf/235fa/3/

the buses only run until 8 or 9 each night so this is the only downfall...

Check out Mar Mar Rooms. It was recommended in Rick Steve's guide book. I have a reservation for early June so I haven't stayed there yet, but here's a link to the reviews from VT.

http://www.virtualtourist.com/hotels/Europe/Italy/Liguria/Riomaggiore-144890/Hotels_and_Accommodations-Riomaggiore-Mar_Mar-R-1.html

The website for Mar Mar is http://www.5terre-marmar.com/

It is located in Riomaggiore and is only 20E per night. Please note that a two night stay is required and there is no breakfast. However, it is possible to reserve a room with a kitchen.

Hope this helps!

yes - we also heard that Mar Mar was good but it was booked out unfortunately for us ...

I'd say MOnterosso has most of nightlife, being the biggest town. Trains run at least til 11PM, but all trains do not stop at all stations. If you want a stay 'downtowns' I guess from 50 upwards pr room.
