"Festival of San Remo"
San Remo is on the Italian Riviera not far from Nice. Probably by train it is less than an hour.
Each year in San Remo there is a music competition much like American Idol. It has been around for at leat 20 years, if not more. Many famous Italian pop stars got their start there, such a Andrea Bocelli, Laura Pausini, and my favorite, Rita Forte.
