Best Western Regina Elena: run away as fast as you can

This hotel is a dump. The pictures on websites are misleading. I paid 204 euros a night for the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The room was tiny, bed hard, and pillows flat. Airconditioner blew hot air and made it impossible to sleep at night. The balcony which I paid extra for had no privacy from the room next door. The pool could have been awesome except for the numerous and poorly supervised kids that disturbed every adult they saw.

hotel Regina Elena is the sister hotel to Hotel Laurin which is situated a few doors down. The Elena is more the elite of the two as it has its own private swimming beach and a wonderful outdoor cafe, restaurant and private lockers. Hotel Laurin guests are welcomed to use the beach but you do have to pay a fee for use of the deck chairs and umbrella's.
For location to the main plaza, Hotel Laurin is better situated, however its about a 10 minutes walk from Hotel Elena.
The hotel has fabulous views of the sea and offers everything you would need for a summer holiday. The hotel opened in 1905 with the traditional Ciana family still operating the hotel under the Best Western name.
The hotel has its own private beach with deck chairs and umbrellas. This beach would be the best in town and outside visitors are not allowed to enter, its for private use to guests from the hotel and guests from Hotel Laurin.
