Most of the time there are powerful winds in Liguria, and lots of waves. The wind makes the stay in the sun easier, as the heat is not burning your head (or, at least you don't notice it), but it can be quite annoying.
Swimming in the waves is fun, but maybe at some point you'd wish for the still surface...
