Delightful Days in Bellagio and at the Hotel Florence

My wife and I were most fortunate to visit Bellagio and stay at the Hotel Florence in May of this year as part of our tenth anniverasry celebration travelling throughout Italy. Bellagio and staying at the Hotel Florence was certainly a highlight of the trip. I had visited Bellagio as a young person approximately forty years ago and had always wanted to return especially for a special occasion. It did not disappoint and I left feeling as charmed as my first visit. Both my wife and I are anxious to return as part of an Italian lake tour. We were given a lovely room with balcony and northern lake view as promised. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was great. It was particularly lovely having dinner at the lakeside restaurant watching the sunset and fading light of day over the lake. We would definitely stay at the Hotel Florence again and are most pleased to recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Bellagio.

Beautiful View, Wonderful Room

We had a beautiful room overlooking the lake in October. Bellagio has to be the best place to stay in Lake Como. We took the ferry to Tremesso and Como and Bellagio was definitely more beautiful, although shopping would be better in Como. All of the previous reviews are dittoed here.

Beautiful view - beautiful Bellagio

My son and I spent three nights at this hotel in October 2004. The hotel is really perfectly situated and is also architecturally very attractive. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room with it's spectacular view of the lake was of a good size and comfortable, although we found the decor questionable. We did note, however, that some of the other bedrooms were in far better taste. The bathroom which I should imagine had recently been re-done had very elegant sanitary ware and taps, but obviously whoever designed it does not have to use it. A shower in the bath without a shower curtain or door just does not work. Also there was not a single shelf or hook to put your clothes or toiletries. Putting my make-up bag etc. in the bidet is not my idea of glamorous. Apart from these shortfalls I recommend the hotel. Bellagio is a beautiful destination and really worth a visit. When visiting be sure to have a meal at the trattoria "Far Out". This restaurant is a fun place, good decor and excellent food. Very popular with the locals and tourists alike. Be sure to make a reservation if you want a table.

Breathtaking

It's not really the hotel itself that's anything grand, but more where it's located. One of the most beautiful spots in all of Italy. Bellagio is a dream come true. You wake up looking at this beautiful lake in the morning sun. Nice people and room was charming. Looks like bathroom recently redone. Very nice.

The Best Hotel on Lake Como

We had the most romantic time in Bellagio, and the Hotel Florence was the perfect place to stay. It's located right on the lake. We chose a balcony room which was well worth it if you get the room where the balcony wraps around the building giving you the most wonderful view. The tall french doors had billowy curtains that swayed in the warm summer wind. We had considered staying at the Grand Hotel which is right next door and has a pool (but we had not planned on doing any swimming), but for half the price, the Hotel Florence is just as nice, and more quaint and you can enjoy dinner and drinks at the Grand anytime you like. We had a set menu on the outdoor terrace with a bottle of Krystal. It was magnificent. Bellagio is an excellent place to stay in if you plan on seeing all of Lake Como. The ferry is across the street and if you have a car, there is paid parking across from the hotel. Excellent service and attention, the hotel staff was extremely kind. A+

Excellent position.

We did not stay at Hotel Florence but dined in their restaurant which was very cute ! The hotel is in an excellent location directly across the road from the ferry wharf. If you do not want to carry heavy suitcases up the steps of Bellagio village then this hotel is ideal for those who may hate steps or just want to hop off the ferry and go straight to the hotel. Its also excellent for those travelling by car.

Our Favorite Hotel in Italy!

This was our 6th stay at the Hotel Florence.

This family run hotel has it's own unique style~
The lovely rooms are constantly upgraded & redecorated. Some have private terraces.
It is the perfect location...right at the tip of Bellagio, with magnificent views of Lake Como.

The Hotel Florence Restaurant is truly the best in town! It is superbly managed by Aaron & his terrific
wait staff. The Chef's cuisine is awesome!

The Bar ~ the coolest place in town,
is managed by Tim...who is always very very entertaining, and makes our visit memorable!

Michela manages the Front Desk~
She, Elena & Chris are always warm & cheerful,
and accommodate our every need!
The hotel also has a heavenly Spa!
Schedule a massage with Daniela!

The owners & their fabulous staff are like family
to us now~

Often, while traveling, one might miss a city or town, or the charm of a particular hotel~
Leaving the Hotel Florence, we miss the staff!
They all make our stay an incredibly wonderful experience.

We always travel with 2-3 other couples,
and they all agree!

We shall always return to the Hotel Florence!

Fabulous Florence Hotel in Bellagio

We were so glad that we stayed at the Hotel Florence in Bellagio which overlooks the lively port of Lake Como.

It was reasonably priced, and we had a huge room with two large balconies overlooking the lake. It had four windows, tall ceilings, wooden floors, two chairs, small couch, two huge dressers, two small side tables, king bed, and TV on a stand.

The bathroom was newly rennovated and quite large. This picture is the eating area in front of the hotel, looking out over the lake. The Hotel Florence made our time in Bellagio quite special
