What to wear February?

by dansmum

Hi, I'm gonna be in bergamo for 3 nites over Valentines wkend and was just wondering wot i should be packing? I'm assuming it will be quite cold there so warm clothes and a big warm coat are a must i'd imagine. I went to Milan for a wk a few yrs ago and found that everyone was super stylish and dressed up regardless of weather - is it like that in Bergamo. I'm flyin with ryanair so packing space limited so wanted to get advice on how dressed up people actually get going out at nite and are they all as stylish as they were in Milan?! Also does it rain a lot there (i'm from Ireland where it rains all the time!) Thanks.

This is a colder winter than usual, both in Milan as in Bergamo. If you are going to spend time outdoors give your priority to warmth.
Remember also that restaurants, bars and cafes are well heated, so you can wear stylish clothes under a warm greatcoat (plus gloves, scarf, hat).
Remember that whatever you wear you will feel cold if your feet are cold, so pay attention especially to that part of your attire.

All the above, and pack some boots that will cope with snow consitions.

In Bergamo is not like in Milan, there are less people dressing very stilish around. You may find some very stilish places, but in general people dress quite easy.

Say hi to my hometown!

Lago di Iseo

by nina_z

Lago di Iseo is around one hour by bus form Bergamo and a very ncie place to visit especially in the summer months. We arrived by a local bus from Bergamo to Lovere a bit of a sleepy town in a valley surrounded by hills, lying on the lake's shore. From here we took a small boat to one of the most famous islands of the lake - Montisola. It is the biggest lake island of Europe and it has connections to other different towns lying around the lake.
On the picture isn't Montisola but a much smaller island L’Isola di San Paolo - currently a private property.

If you're in Italy take the train. That's cheap and easy. The station is central located and if you'll walk straight ahead you'll arrive in the centre. There are busses as well but because this is not as popular as e.g. Venice, Verona and Milan it's better to take the train as far as I'm concerned.
Just by bus or by feet. You can do everything by feet. If you wanna go to the higher part you can take the bus.(pic=city walls and higher part of the city)

Charming, stylish, atmosphere. View from terrace over valley. Terrace looks to be open air in warm weather. Food is nicely presented, reasonable prices. Nice wines. Child friendly. Lots of gelato choices for dessert. We paid 81 Euros for lunch for two adults and two children. My entree was 9 Euros. Spouse had mixed grilled seafood for 18 Euros. Pizzas ran about 6 Euros. I had rabbit with polenta. Yummy.

Vineria Cozzi is a nice place in the upper part of Bergamo that u can find simply walking the main street in the heart of the old city.
Great wines !!!! and homemade desserts !!!!! Cheese, sausages and all typical and genuine stuff.
