B&B Villa Janus - Ambivere (Bergamo, Italy): A superbly warm welcome
I stayed here for a night in April this year. Utterly superb. This is a small B&B where the very friendly and helpful lady who runs the place keeps the whole place spotlessly clean. I was there with a female family member who keeps a very critical eye open in places where she stays but she also loved this joint. She has even spoken about going back just to stay in this B&B again. There was also a business guy from Denmark staying there because it was the closest he had been able to get accomm to Milan; he also said that he thought the joint was great as a place of tranquility with a lovely warm welcome and that he would definitely stay there next time.
Contintental style breakfast was plentiful and filling. Special diet requests are gladly listened to - as always it's best to make such requests in advance.
The lady who ran the place made arrangements for us to be collected from Bergamo airport by taxi. I can't remember how much the taxi came to exactly. It may have been about 35 euros but I wouldn't like to put my hand on my heart and guarantee that. I don't remember exactly how long the journey on the motorway took but I think it was around 20 minutes or so. This was late at night though and almost certainly would take longer during peak traffic times.
The proprietor speaks English as well as Italian (maybe other languages also, I didn't ask).
The train station is approx 150 metres away for trains to Bergamo (10 km), Milan and no doubt a host of other places also.
The B&B has a very beautiful garden should you wish to sit outside. Ambivere is literally at the foot of the Alps (I kid you not; whopping big mountains start at the edge of this village).
You may wish to take a look at the weblink below to get a better idea on the place.

Entro le mura: Bed and Breakfast
New concept in Bergamo since Ryan Air his license to fly to the airport nearby.
Some friends have put their heads together and are trying out a new concept for Bergamo: the B&B
More details on this one soon
About the picture (from left to right, top to bottom):
1.The little pitoresque street with the entrance front door at the left hand side.
2. The breakfast table put ready. There was one living room for 3 bedrooms for a total of maximum 7 guests.
3. Sweet Elia who came to fix our breakfast on our desired time and who's English was not so well but who was willing to learn us a few Italian words too so we could communicate well `-)
4. Caroline with the key of the hall door in her hand and look at all the locks of the door! It will take a real professional to break in through the door!

Bar Ardesio: 3 stars hotel
Didn't sleep in this three stars hotel and, according to the prices, it is of lower standards then the previous two hotels. Nevertheless, it is recommendable for the tourists.
The price for the single accomodation is from € 60 - 65
