Better inside than outside.
The front of the hotel is rather plain and drab, inside is "posh", the public rooms are very comfortable. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. My single room was large and comfortable, with a view of a mountain the top of which i could not see because it was in cloud or raining. Breakfast was buffet style and included in the rate of 70 euro [£55]. The hotel was a comfortable base to have in Como has while i was there it rained a lot. The last time i was in Como {1960} on an overnight stop there was a thunder storm then. This hotel is idealy situated for train station, and close to town and lake. The hotel is in the Best Western group.

A Comfortable Base
I thoroughly recommend this hotel. Although not an attractive building from the outside, inside is beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean throughout. I had a single room which, although small, was well-equipped and very comfortable. All the staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly, a very important factor when travelling alone. I had a lovely meal in the restaurant which was beautifully cooked and beautifully presented. The hotel is close to the railway station and just a short walk from the historic centre and the lake, making it an idea base for exploring the region and trips into Milan - a 40 minute train journey away. I would certainly stay there again.
