Residence Kristall Lago

We had a pleasant stay here. The residence was quiet and pretty. The service was quite good, but the receptionist's English wasn't great. The residence officially has 2 stars, but I think it should've more. Yes, the apartments are simple, but nice and bright. The residence is located on the outskirts of the town. It's a 5- 10 min walk to the city centre and even shorter to get to the seaside. The security was high which made us feel safe. There are seperate keys for the gate and then the entrance. We often saw these tiny lizzards, but they're harmless and seem afraid of humans. There was also a small dog running lose, I think he belongs to an employee at the residence. This is a place I'd recommend people to stay at.

Unique Quality: The apartment has satelite TV (German ones apart from the Italian channels), gas cooker (but no oven), kitchen equipments, safety box, a big balcony or terrace. At the residence, there's also a parking garage, a playground, swimming pools, a vending machine and a garden. You'll have a view over the lake or the residence, or like us, the back of the residence (a house, trees, the garden). By the car park are the recycling bins for glass, paper and so on. There's also a restaurant, but we didn't go there.

Hotel Alessi: Just off the main drag...

Prices on May 1st weekend, which is a major holiday in Italy, were 70 euro for a double. Great prices, great location, great restaurant.

Unique Quality: Recently renovated, this tiny hotel has 18 rooms, carefully maintained and personally managed by the family.

No frills, but very comfortable, with a great restaurant. Perfectly situated just off the main piazzas, but in the centre of all the shops.

We were unable to obtain a room here during our stay in Desenzano, much to our disappointment. Next time...and there will be a next time.
