Lago di Garda - Malcesine
by croisbeauty
Malcesine is a likeable resort which was the seat of the Veronese Captains of the Lake in the 16C-17C. Narrow roads lead up to the 13C-14C castle of the Scaligeri, restored by Venice in the 17th century. Very well maintained and open daily, it has various small museums and separate buildings, including one dedicated to Goethe.
A cableway mounts to ski-slopes on Monte Baldo (1750m), and there are pleasant walks in the area.
Lago di Garda

spend some days at Lake Garda (Lago di Garda). It's located in the north of Italy, near Milano. The lake, the landscape and the tiny villages around the lake are just picturesque. My favorite villages are: Bardolino (make sure to taste the ice-cream of 'Cristallo' which is sooo delicious :-) lol The ice-café is located on a corner, pretty close to the promenade), Lazise, Malcesine (from there you can go by cable railway to Mount Baldo ---> Monte Baldo, but be sure to take some pullovers and jackets with you for it's PRETTY cold up there, even in midsummer) and Sirmione.
