The board in the picture shows the accomodation available at the end of October. Red means 'closed', green means no deals can be found due to low supply, and high demand..
This board was located beside the Tourist Information centre on the highway. It has the bulk of the hotels for Limone listed, with a brief description. A direct line is provided, just pick up the receiver and call the hotel of interest.
This picture was taken early afternoon, and immediately after I took it, the second green light switched to red. The ferry stops running Oct 3rd, so tourism in general drops off sharply at the same time. I suggest strongly that you book ahead in off season, because even the one stars or non rated Inns are closed.
Unique Quality: Be aware that many hotels are located on higher elevation. If flat terrain is an important issue for you, search carefully, and ask lots of questions.
The hotels located near the water are ideal, and would be wonderful for a weekends stay.

Hotel Europa: Family run place
We stayed at the Europa for 10 days. The place caters for German and Danish sightseeing tours, British walking holidays, and is in the catalogues of some more adventurous package holiday companies.
The price includes bed, breakfast and evening meals, which are cooked fresh from the hotel's own gardens. The owners are very friendly and multi-lingual.
Unique Quality: This is not a large place, but make sure you get a lake view room with a balcony - terrific views. The small pool connects to a pleasant verandah, just by the bar where you can also get cooked snacks at lunctime.
Every few nights there may be entertainment in the restaurant - this caters for the people on the tour parties mainly.
The hotel is on the main road, and it is a main route from Germany and Italy for bikers. It can be quite noisy on Friday nights as the traffic gets very heavy.
