 | Mantova Albergo San Lorenzo Reviews | 1 - 2 of 2 | |
Albergo San Lorenzo by deecat Because of the Pedestrian-friendly town, there are many one-way streets. Therefore, it is difficult to drive a car to the hotel. We stopped and asked a gentleman who did not speak much English. He indicated with hand signals that he would get in the car and drive us there, which he did. He had to back up a one-way street at one point. He would take nothing but a thank you. Another typical time which proves how friendly and kind Italians are! In Mantova, we stayed at the four-star Albergo San Lorenzo. Our room, #23, looks out on Piazza Concordia, the Rotunda Church, and other ancient sites. The room is huge with a king bed, two end tables, TV, antique dresser, gigantic mirror, small refrigerator, antique Settee, antique rocker, and Wardrobe. The color scheme is tear and cream. It has two large windows with European shutters. There is a long hall with a door that closes and then a wonderful bathroom that is so large and so modern. The service was the best we had during the entire trip. I loved this hotel.
The location was near all important sites, especially the cathedral and the Rotunda Church, elegant stores, restaurants, pizzerias, bakeries, and ice cream stores. The service was outstanding. The breakfast room was quite nice, and the food was delicious.

View from our room by royalempress We really enjoyed our stay at the San Lorenzo. Our room on the top floor had a nice balcony, bedroom, and sitting room. The hotel from the outside didn't look like much, but inside it was very nice.
If you can be there on Thursday you will have fun at the outdoor market. It covers many square blocks. It is hard finding the hotel so we finally hired a taxi to show us the way! We were driving but got tired of the hour driving in circles. Breakfast was also very good.
