Hen Do in Milan

by sazkia

Hi everyone!

I'm thinking of planning my hen do in Milan, in june for afew days.
We will be flying into bergamo, what is the quickest way to get into the city centre?

Also any other suggestions on places to see/ spa's/ nightlife?

Thanks Sarah

The airport wesite has all public transport info in English:

Bus takes about an hour. Timetables etc in English here:

Or you can get the bus to Bergamo station, then train to Milan.

http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/homepage_en.html

for train times, details and fares in English.

Train from Bergamo (town, not airport) to Milan Centrale (or other Milan stations) takes just over an hour.

I'd take the bus, personally, although be aware that Milan main roads can be very congested at busy times and thus cause delays. Train would be better at those times of day.

Travel Tips for Milan

The Last Supper, the Last...

by PeterB731

The Last Supper, the Last Pieta at the Sforza Castle, the Brera Museum for renaissance art as good as Venice's Academia or the Uffizi in Florence. Also, take the elevator to the roof of the Duomo. Easter Eve there was special. Walking around on the roof of the Duomo on a sunny day and having dinner in the canal area south of the city center.

La moda milanese

by CliffClaven

Milan is one of the fashion capitals of the world and has several prestigious schools for modelling, design and marketing. The Italian fashion houses have managed to combine style with wearability. Slip into something designed by Armani and you'll feel as good as the models look.

Fauchè Market

by draguza

This street market is very appreciated by the fashionistas.
You can find discounted clothes and shoes of the most prestigious italian stylists.

On Tuesdays from 8.30-13.00

We were trieing to find a place, where isn´t disco-music,and you could sit down and have a drink outside. We just walked by,and happened to be Rolling Stones playing on the stereo, and we sat down.We ment to have one beer, but,it became one drink and two beer, when it was nice place to sit.Music was o.k.(=not made with machines),and mot of customers werecoupples around 20 to 40years,just sitting and talking.Candles burning in the tables, witch allways pleases me(my husband doesn´t let me see candles at shops anymore, before we have burned some old ones first..).Prices were little cheaper than some other places. They had some snack-food,but we didn´t need any. If some place has a dresscode, you can count us out..

Do not forget !

by KOGU

This system may be tricky if you come from Asian countries or UK wherever. All you have to do before get on local train is "validation of the ticket" ! Let's look for the yellow machine and insert your ticket. Sometimes conductor checks the ticket on the train, sometimes not. Maybe 50-50?
