Stay away

Stay away...

I was scammed by Andreola Central Hotel. Upon my arrival on a super rainy day, the hotel staff told me that there was a booking error and that I needed to go to another hotel 5 minutes away...as it was 5 minutes away I agreed.

Little did I know that they ment 5 minutes away by hilicopter. The alternative hotel was an hour away by Taxi, outside of Milan and was 4th rate. I needed a visa to get to this location....that is how far out of the center town it was.

Upon arrival at the alternative hotel, I called the Andreola Central Hotel to tell them that this was unacceptable, but they simply hung-up on me. When I sent a compliant they said there was a misunderstanding.

This is what is called a professional con…no less. And there are others who fell into this spider web of depict. What is offensive is that their staff lied to me…they clearly stated that the alternative hotel was five minutes away…no misunderstand, no mistake, simply a professional con.

I am not talking about the additional Taxi costs to get back into the city, or the fact that the alternative hotel was is in the middle of nowhere, it was simply a 4th rate hotel.

Andreola Central Hotel ...You should be a ashamed of yourself….

Luxurious Surroundings

This was the first time I used the Internet to book a hotel and until I had actually arrived and been shown my room, I was convinced that when I turned up, they would know nothing about my booking! I had chosen the hotel because it worked out less expensive for a single room than in many of the cheaper hotels.

Although the room was small and cosy, it was beautifully decorated and looked very grand, as did the rest of the hotel and the bathroom was clean, nicely decorated and well lit too. My room faced the street but I had no problem with noise from outside and I couldn’t hear any from the other people staying at the hotel either.

The hotel is very well located for transport, being just a few minutes’ walk from Milan’s Central Station, so it is perfect if you are arriving by train and if you are flying you can take the train or bus directly from the airport to this area. As the weather was fine and I’d noticed a route through a pretty park, I also enjoyed walking to and from the hotel to reach the area by the Duomo, where many of the places I wanted to visit were located but it would be easy to use public transport from the Central Station instead.

Included in the price was a nice breakfast of coffee, bread and fruit but I did not eat any other meals at the hotel.

I had a big shock when I looked up the cost per night of this hotel, on their website, in order to write this tip, and saw how expensive it is; I certainly didn't pay that much! It looks like I got a better deal than I realised at the time, by booking with Expedia. I remember thinking it seemed rather smart for such a cheap place!

Great value hotel in Milan

I have just come back from Milan where I stayed for 1 night at the Andreola Hotel in Milan. It's located about 2-3 minutes from the Central train station. I booked a single room & was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn't a pokey room like single rooms usually are. The hotel has recently been renovated & the standard of the rooms & bathrooms is very high. It is a 4 star rated hotel but Euro 59 (booked through the internet) really was a bargain for what's on offer.
The only thing that I found strange was that I first checked out the price on the internet, then decided to phone & book directly. They asked me if I was staying on business, I said that I was & they promptly quoted me a price of Euro 135. Needless to say I booked it over the internet.
