Its location is best at Milan. It is less than 100m to the nearest subway station. It is 15 minutes by walking to the main rail station. At that rail station, you may go to the airport by bus (much cheaper than taxi). It is also near a very well known long shopping street : Corso Buenos Aires Street, and you may found dress or appliances. The bathroom area is average. It is new, nice bathroom There is Air Condition. The breakfast is average. I mean you find fresh juice, milk with cereals, hot bread, jam, cheese, eggs, and some cakes. So, it is not bad and not so variety of dishes. The cable TV channels are mostly Italian. CNN is included. There is a PC at the reception hall, where it is open 24 hours a day. Each 30 minutes cost 6 Euro.
The reception staff have a great hospitality, and very helpful. The location is near : subway, train station & shopping street. Hotel Bernina by Nemorino I didn't even look at their website until I got back home, but when I did I was very impressed with their 21 languages. The hotel itself was all right too, slightly more expensive than the Mazzini but also in a slightly more upscale neighborhood. After coming out of the central station you take a half left into Via Napo Torriani (instead of a full left into Via Virtuvio) and there you are. For internet connections there were two computers in the lobby. These cost three Euros per hour -- which I personally thought was three Euros too much, but never mind. Though they were obviously not equipped for bicycle storage, they were nice about letting me park mine in the lobby overnight. (Some hotels in Milan have free bicycles for their clients, like the Ariston, but these hotels are more expensive, so it evens out in the end.)

Cardano al Campo Hotel by starship We chose the Cardano Hotel for its proximity to Malpensa Airport and also because it offered a free airport shuttle. Because of its location, it is also a good point from which you can go north to the Lago di Como area, or go into Milan. Rooms are somewhat spare but adequate, and have TV, telephone and mini-bar. My room had a double bed with a navy-striped bedspread and a sliding door to a very small balcony. Bathrooms are somewhat small and the showers even smaller. The shower was so small that it was almost impossible to have a proper shower. The hotel has a lovely, bright yellow breakfast room downstairs which offers something more than just the regular continental breakfast that most hotels offer. The breakfast is included in the rate. Although we could not communicate very much, there was an older lady attending the breakfast area who was very nice to me and I was pleased to leave her a tip. There is an outdoor pool which was not in use because of the time of the year. The staff is very helpful and courteous. This hotel does not have a restaurant on the premises although it does have a small bar off the lobby! The hotel personnel can explain what restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel.
. The Cardano's signature feature is that it is built in the style of the Roman Coliseum! I stayed at the First Hotel for one night before my flight from Malpensa. It is located midway between Terminal One and Terminal Two, and the hotel offers 24-hour shuttle service. The trip takes five minutes and for the Hotel -> Airport trip you must book your spot in advance. It took 20 minutes (from my phone call) for the shuttle to pick me up from the aiport. The driver was very friendly and carried my bags all the way to my room. Check-in was a breeze and they offered me a non-smoking room and the option of waiting five minutes for passport-processing or picking my document up later. The actual hotel room was nice. It had a huge bed, air conditioning, television with BBC, CNN and SKY News, good chocolates and a CD-ROM that I could take home with information about the hotel (useless but fun). The bathroom had a good shower and gigantic towels, plus a good selection of bath and body products including a floral facial cream. Pay-per-view movies were available, but the same movie would be repeated all day, followed by a different movie the next day, so you didn't have a choice as to what you watched. Cost was EUR 10. The only negative aspect of the hotel is the restaurant. Although the food was quite good, the prices were EXTREMELY high. 500 ml of water cost EUR 3.50, my salad and dessert both cost EUR 8, and the real killer was the plate of grilled vegetables and scarmorza cheese that was EUR 16. Meat dishes were even more expensive. I didn't notice any restaurants on the drive from the airport to the hotel, so I don't know if there are other dining options in the area. Service in the restaurant was fine, and a fairly good breakfast was included (there were eggs and bacon in addition to bread, rolls, jams, etc.) You'll see from my tips that I previously stayed at a different hotel near Malpensa, but it didn't even remotely compare to the First Hotel (and there was only a EUR 10 price difference). Online, I booked a single room for EUR 110 per night, but saw last-minute prices for EUR 100.

messy room by willy_wonka hotel straf, part of the design hotel group, is a funky refubished hotel right next to the duomo. the rooms are quite spacious, sleek and very modern. following the minimalistic ideal, everything is 'hidden', making for some fun trying to figure out how to open doors and whatnot!

Most of the people who comes to Milan comes to the centralstation. Naturally the area around there are full of hotels. The problem is most of them are 3-5 stars, and expensive as... 5 minutes walk from the station is a great chance for those of you that wish to put the most of the money at other things than the accomandation. Hotel Arno is a 1 star-hotel, with quite small rooms, but with a friendly atmosphere. Next door there is also Hotel Eva, also that one a 1 star-hotel. Prices are from 35-40 euro for a singleroom, 50 euro and up for a doubleroom. Toilet in the room, or out in the corridor. No breakfest included, since there aren't any. Small tv:s in most of the rooms. Make sure to at least make a contact with the hotel before you leave for you trip, since most of the hotels, including Hotel Arno, is fully booked now and then because of all the big exhibitions in Milan. If you prefer a more luxury hotel, for, of course, a higher cost, there are plenty of hotels around the station and the "Fiera". But make sure to book a room before you leave for your trip, since it might be fully booked.
