Which airport im milan is the closest to alcatraz? and how long does it take from the airport to get there?

Re: alcatraz

by leics

The nearest airport to Milan city centre is Milan Linate. From there you can take taxi or bus to Milano Centrale railway station. Info in English here, under 'connection';

Milan Malpensa is further away. You can take taxi, bus or train (to Milan Cadorna station).

Assuming by 'Alcatraz' you mean the nightclub, then it is at:

via Valtellina n°21/27
20157 Milano

to the north of the city. You can see it mapped on the nightclub website:

The easiest way (unless you take taxis) will be to fly into Linate, take the bus to Milano Centrale and then take the Metro from there. The nearest Metro stop to Alcatraz is Maciachini, at the end of line 3.

Travel Tips for Milan

BRERA area

by draguza

When in Milan you cannot miss BRERA area, it isa very pitoresque part of the city with its restaurants, narrow streets and out of ordinary stores.

We call Brera the area of the city roughly delimited by corso Garibaldi - via Ponte Vetero - via Mercatoon the West side, via dell'Orso on the South, via Brera - via Solferino on the East, and bastioni di Porta Nuova North. You can begin your walk from the Moscova underground station and take Corso Garibaldi to the South. The larger streets have plenty of bars and creative shops, with old style and design cafés, and the aroma of fresh bread and focacce coming out of bakeries.

While in fashion stores, don't take pictures

by mydreamquest

I fell in love with this model in this advertisement in some Milan Galleria store. I wasn't satisfied with my exposure and frame of the shot, as I was prepared to take a second picture, the shop person just noticed I was going to take a picture and screamed at me and ordered me not to take pictures.

I was very apologetic, of course, when you fall in love, one tends to think of the beauty as opposed to customs. But if you can control your heart try not to take pictures inside stores (or be very sneaky not to be caught).

The Naviglio district is a...

by feline01

The Naviglio district is a charming neighborhood containing the remnants of Milan's canals, yes not just in Venice. The canals were filled in decades ago except for the Naviglio Grande and Pavese canal. This neighborhood is loaded with bars, clubs, restaurants, cafes and many of Milan's beautiful people interacting with some of Milan's less-than-beautiful people. I really like this neighborhood. It's very romantic as well but I have yet to bring my husband here. Nearest Metro stop is Porta Genova on the M2 line. Particularly nice at nightime when the fairy lights are lit and candles abound in the many cafes.

La Bicicletta art bar

by desert_princess about La Bicicletta art bar

A Lovely place with a free cold buffet where you have the most delicious little things like grilled zucchini, paella, olives, etc etc, just serve yourself , enjoy the rasta bartender, or look at a cartoon on the screen on the wall, while listening to some chillout fashion sounds...this is what I call life....
What I found absolutely unique was all that food arranged on the bar , that you don't pay for - it's probably included in the price of the drinks , as they were overpriced , but the idea is absolutely greeat. I've seen it in other places in Milan too - this is a good way to make you stay longer and of course to be back .

useful !?!?

This tram may be very efficient to move around Milano... if you know well the map of Milano and if you luckily do not face frequent strikes... It seems like everyone gets on it without payment. Employees should consider the collection system once before coming out !
