Be Respectful of Others While Visiting a Church
by guell
It is easy to forget as travelers that the churches in Italy are serious business for some. Definitely visit Milan's cathedral, but remember that it is a place of worship, so it should be treated with respect. You will see people praying all around you while you do your sightseeing. Feel free to walk around and admire the architecture, but try to dress modestly and to keep your voice down.
Pasta Eating Can Be A Challenge
by Krystynn
Now, about eating pasta... without embarassing yourself in Milan. Best way = Eat spaghetti with a spoon. If you think you'll make a mess of yourself especially if you're out with some hot Italian hunk or lass, please don't be afraid to wear a bib by tucking your napkin into your shirt/ blouse. Strangely enough, wearing a bib is coolness personified in this ultra-hip fashion and style capital of the world! I'm really not joking this time. Ah, there is hope for people like me who find eating sphagetti - the correct way - such a cumbersome chore until I come to Milan.
If still in doubt, copy the way your Italian host or friends eat! ;-) You'll surely not go wrong.

The best ice-cream of Milan
by cooltrudy about Pozzi 1895
If you come to Milan i recommend to taste a very good ice-cream. Pozzi and Viel are the better ice-cream parlour in Milan. Pozzi is an ice-cream parlour, with a long tradition, where you can taste plenty of different kind of ice-creams.
In particular Pozzi is an expert in fruit taste made with real fruit (and not syrups). The icecream of Pozzi is for intenditrice with a fine palate.
My favourite fruit tastes are limon, green apple and watermellon.
But the best ice-cream taste is MALAGA (vanilla, raisins and whisky)!
COOL...MALAGA...It's making me mouth water !
The price is 2 euro for a small cup of 3 tastes! No problem of dress code. And if you want you could go there with your dog ! The last time Pozzi offer ed a small ice-cream to my dog!
I arrived at Milan Malpensa...
by Ruthy2001
I arrived at Milan Malpensa airport where the possibilities are train taxi or bus. My recommendation is to take the bus as it costs €4 and takes 50 minutes, the train costs double that but takes 40 minutes and both takes you to the stazione centrale.
Milan is easy to get to from anywhere as it is a commercial centre, my recommendation is to shop around as there are some good deals about at the moment (try Buzzaway if you are flying from Britain). Another alternative would be to fly into one of the smaller airports which will cost less and then catch a train.
