Nice reasonable hotel

The Hotel Grand Puccini on Corso Buenos Aires 33, in the shopping district. It was a fairly easy walk and find from the train station with one suitcase on my back. Easy check in, friendly front desk staff. I checked in and dropped off my stuff late afternoon, then gave my key back to the front desk as I went out for the evening. When I came back, the desk person immediately recognized me and knew my room without asking and gave me my key.

Unique Quality: Very clean room, nicely decorated, had a flat screen TV/computer monitor that you could also get internet access on (for a fee). Some bathroom amenities. Breakfast was included (I believe from 8-10am) in their breakfast room. Big buffet with quite a lot to choose from.

It was also only a block from the Lima station on the red line (metro) to go straight to the Duomo

Looking for a Place to Stay in Milan During the Furniture Fair

by jtfr

I am going to Milan with a co-worker for the furniture fair in April. Many of the hotels are booked already. We really want to stay in the city along the metro line. Can anyone think of a decent, clean hotel that is in the city center that may not be on all of the travel websites and therefore may have availability during that time? We are on a budget, so it has to be about 250 Euros/night. If we have to book outside of the city, does anyone know of a nice hotel that is in a nice area that is in walking distance to the metro? Any advice would be really helpful!

The Grand Hotel Puccini on Via Beunos Aires would fit the bill perfectly. The metro is about a hundred metres away. It is situated on a big shopping streeet and not too far from most of the sights.

We enjoyed Antares Accademia Hotel, which located about 10mins on the bus line.We had the same problem regarding accommodation in Milan and opted for the above hotel. Its very reasonable and the rooms are well designed. The tram stop is just outside the hotel and takes approx 8mins into CBD. I highly recommend it.

Are you sure they have availability still?
Do you have any contact info for the hotel?

thanks,

Try www.venere.com or www.bookings.com. They will probably have many more options for you. If you enter the dates you want they will tell you if there are rooms available at whichever hotel you choose from their sites.

If you are interested I have a flat available for the whole week.
It's in Bovisa, 15 min from the center of town and 5 min walk from the train station. Lots of stuff is happening in the neighbourhood as well.
