walk through the Piazza del Duomo. You'll find there three of the most important monuments in town: the Cathedral, the Galleries Vittorio Emanuele II which connects to the Teatro alla Scala. Probably it's the painting 'Il Cenacolo' (1495-1497) painted by Leonardo Da Vinci and located at the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Maybe you'll find a long queue but it is well worth. Also it is interesting how the painting is being conserved and protected with a doors system which allows only a few visitors seeing the painting at the same time. Please remember that pictures cannot be made in order to preserve the painting.

Stop off at any of the many Cafes in the city, and have a CAPPUCINNO. It costs about 1,000 Liras less if you stand at the bar and have it. However, the approx. 3,000 Liras spent on the drink while sitting down is worth it! (that's still pretty cheap!) In Italy, they make designs with the froth. I have NOT been able to figure out how. I guess it will remain a mystery!
Specially for English & Italian Football Fans!
by Krystynn about The English Football Club
If you're a huge English Premier League (EPL) and Serie A fan, this is the coolest pub in town for you to unwind and rub shoulders with like-minded folks!
We've been regulars at this kewl pub especially on football fever afternoons like Saturday! There are giant screens screening Italian and English football matches. Needless to add, there are tons of football memorabilia all over this place.
Me? I usually sit together with ALL my Milan tifosi... and il mio ragazzo? He's banished to sit with all the Inter tifosi (cuz he's a huge Inter fan). :-(( That's the only time we don't agree on anything! Haha...
Hope to see you football fans in this pub on Saturday afternoons cuz that's where I'll be most of the time. Casual.
The Malpensa Express Train to Milan
by starship
Malpensa offers excellent and convenient transportation into Milan. Located on the lowest level of the airport, you will find the ticket office for the "Malpensa Express" train into the city. You can purchase a "biglietto" to Milan for 12 Euros roundtrip (2004 price). You must validate your ticket in the yellow-timestamp machine just outside of the ticket office before boarding your train and they will be checked on the train. The train has 2 seating areas--one downstairs and one up. They are both quite comfortable. Make your choice and then sit back and enjoy the ride!
