Take advantage of free happy hour buffets in bars!
by firechick
See the square with the Duomo Cathedral and the beautiful glass-covered mall (entrance in the same square as the cathedral).
Also check out the castle and ruins of the old walled city (in the center of town). Walking in the pedestrian areas and marvelling at the beautiful architecture of the old city, and finding a 'bohemian' kind of area by accident. Also finding out that the bars have a 'happy hour' with free buffets full of yummy Italian food - order some drinks (liberally poured, I may add) and load up on an early and cheap dinner.....

For those interested in fashion, Milan is one of the world capitals. Giorgio Armani, Gianni Versace, Gucci, Valentino, Trussardi or Salvatore Ferragamo are some of the designers with headquarters in Milan. Their shops are located in Via Monte Napoleone and Via Sant'Andrea.
Cinema Dumont
by draguza
Cinema Dumont now serves as a public library. It was originally built in 1910 by architets Architetti Tettamanzi e Mainetti in perfect Liberty style and it was intended to be a movie theatre for the "Milanesi". Nowadays instead it changed name and it is now called Biblioteca Rionale Venezia, a library.
The worst place ever
by Henrik_rrb about Hollywood
Corso Como is the big partystreet in Milan with at least 4-5 big discotecs and also a lot of bars. There are two problems however: 1) It costs a lot... 2) You have to know where to go.
The most famous disco in Milan is for sure Hollywood. And for sure the best thing to do is staying out of that place too... They say it's full of footballstars and beautiful models, but the truth is the only thing it's full is drugs, ***ty music and people on drugs... The whole place is a big dark room in a basement. And for going there you'll have to stay in the line for a long time (if you're "lucky" to get inside at all...), and then pay up to 20 euro just for getting in, and then another 13 euro for every drink/beer.
I was there with 4 beautiful women, but the whole evening was still the worst ever. A good advice, go somethere else...
Right over the street for example, where you'll find... No real dress code, but if you still want to go there I suggest you don't come in t-shirts and shorts... As fancy as possibile.
Milan - Malpensa Airport
by MalenaN
I took the Malpensa Express from Cadorna (Stazione Nord) to Malpensa Airport. The ticket office was just after the entrance to the station and the ticket was 11 Euro (February 2009). During the day the trains leave every half an hour and the ride takes 50 minutes. At Malpensa the train stops at terminal 1. My plane was leaving from terminal 2, which is not within walking distance from terminal 1, but there are free shuttle buses going between the two terminals. When I arrived to Milan I also took the Malpensa Express, but only to Sarrono (as I was going to Como). That ride took 20 minutes and it was 6 Euro.
From Malpensa there are also buses going to Milan Stazione Centrale. They take about an hour. And there are buses to Linate airport as well.
