Hotel in the center

Why booked the Special room for 320 euro per night, because it looked the pretiest from the photos in the web. The room was nice, it had a lot of facilities, but the elevator its just next to the room. The room is not soundproof.
The breakfast was very good.
In the afternoon if you want a coffe or a mineral water its complimentary in the hotel bar.
Also the internet is for free.
Its an expensive hotel but all the central hotels in Milan are so expensive, so definately if somebody needs a hotel very close to duomo, i recommend it, BUT, remember to ask a room far from the lift.
The staff is very kind and the hotel is very clean, they dont have parking they colaborate with an ext.parking place for 20 euro per day.

Excellent Service

by TripAdvisor Member aristoph

We spent just one night at the Spadari for our trip to Milan and La Scala. In advance I had been in touch with the front desk over several matters and always received a prompt and helpful response. We had booked a "special" room with a balcony for a discounted summer rate of 238 euros incl breakfast. The location of the hotel was perfectly central for our short visit, though it was difficult to get to it in a car via the one way system! The staff were very welcoming and allowed us access to the room even though we had arrived at midday. The room (no. 53) itself was very pleasant, although perhaps a little on the small side given that it was one of their higher rate rooms. The balcony was pretty and covered with plants, but had no view at all (not even roof tops!). However it also seemed to be a haven for mosquitoes as we found out the next morning when we woke up covered in bites. We took breakfast in the room as we wanted to sit out on the balcony (no mosquitoes in the daytime) and found it to be just average - maybe you have to go downstairs for the real spread?

So, would we stay again? Probably yes, though I don't think we would pay up again for a special room.

Service and style

We opted for the slightly larger room which was a very well equipped and stylish with a brilliant bathroom. A large bed with black out blinds and no noise was precisely what the doctor had ordered. Alas, roof repairs commenced at 7.00 a.m which rendered these comforts somewhat otiose. The hotel staff were complete non-jobsworths about this and were profusely apologetic waking the manager himself from his amalfi coast reveries to refund the cost of the room for the night for all paying guests affected. The staff beyond this they were attentive and charming. Breakfasts were great particularly the room service (at no additional cost).

The hotel itself is located in a superb central location which is in walking distance of the duomo, and both (down at heel) and haut couture boutiques. It is not one of those corporate hotels which could have been plonked in anywhereville but is quite small with interesting interior decor. It is also next door to the most amazing food hall (think italian harrods) which sells take away italian delights. We would definitely go again and would probably have posted ***** had it not been for the 7.00 a.m wake up call.

Brilliant end to honeymoon

by TripAdvisor Member welshshrew

What a fantastic hotel the Spadari is.

We got here for the last 3 nights of our honeymoon and after a disappointing room in Verona (Hotel Bologna), it was amazing to check into our room 53 (as mentioned below).

The size of the room was excellent with a beautiful bathroom including bath, and plenty of space. The balcony was also well used by us - the plants didn't bother us as it did the guests below.

We took breakfast downstairs twice, and took it once in the bedroom. Whilst the form offering breakfast in the bedroom is slightly more limited, you can request anything you like in the space. Thus, we had rolls, croissants, orange juice, tea, fruit salads, yoghurt, boiled eggs and an omlette delivered - all for no cost (save a small tip to the porter).

The staff were all very friendly, there is fast and free internet access in the lobby and it was a real joy to have stayed at this excellent hotel.

Great hotel!

Stayed for 3 nights. The hotel was perfectly situated in walking distance to all Milan attractions...restaurants, shops, etc. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. The breakfasts were great....room service is included. There's free internet, modems in the rooms, an electrical adaptor and more. We had room 52-very spacious and a view of the street below. In Aug. the towns practically empty as everyone goes on holidays so it was the perfect time to go. Will definitley return and tell all our friends about it. Also, go to Peck, right next door, a gourmet grocery store..it's fantastico!

Which bus to take

by sccpm

Hi - We'll be arriving in Milan; coming in on the train. We'd prefer to take a bus or tram instead of the metro to our hotel. I understand it is near the Duomo - Hotel Spadari at Via Spardari 11. Does anyone know which bus would take us there or close nearby? Thanks for any response!

But it is not any easier or faster then Metro.
