Teatro alla Scala
Scala is the most famous opera house in the world. It was founded in 1778. The famous opera works by Verdi, Rossini and Puccini were performed for the first time here. Visiting Scala is a life-time memory for me.

Hi,
I'm going to Milan in a few weeks and will have some time to shop. I've seen Nannini purses the last time I was in Italy - didn't buy one and really want to get one this time.
Is there a Nannini store or a place that sells a good selection of their leather goods in central Milan? Thanks so much for any advice!

I suppose old Cliffie has to be fair and mention that Milan has another football team that at times has been the best in Europe. In the late 1960s AC Milan won two European trophies with a team featuring Gianni Rivera and Pierino Prati. Twenty years later AC Milan again ruled Europe, with a side built around the Dutch trio of Rijkaard, Gullit and van Basten.
An International Social Group for people of ALL NATIONALITIES in the Milan area.
We usually have a get-together on Wednesday evenings at Fiori Oscuri Bistrot for anybody who wants to get involved, meet new people, get a chance to speak English, enjoy a drink or some tasty food (hamburgers!), and keep up with international events. Movies and Sky TV in English also shown.

Another bar- and restaurant-area in Milan is Brera. 4-5 streets with pubs, restaurants and also some discos. The best bars, according to me, is SanSegal, Bar Brera and Art Cafe. Don't forget to take a Tennents beer for me at Bar Brera... ;-)
The prices is different for different places. Bar Brera and Art Cafe sells beer for around 4,50-5 euro, while it costs 7,50 at SanSegal.
During the spring and the summer Brera is full of people. Actually the area is more than full... You might need a bulldozer to get around...
It's also full of people who tries to sell everything, everything from lighters, fake-cd/dvd to bags and wallets. Not to mention to old ladies who wants to tell you about your future by reading her cards...
Take for granted you'll be paying to much whatever you pay, and you might be pleased with your buy... :-)
Brera is the perfect place to walked around in, with so many bars close to eachother you can test a lot of them during one night. But when it's really crowded during the warm nights you should stay at a place if you're fortunate enough to find a place to sit down at... Try to find a place at one of the chairs outside a bar, and you can sit there all night long and look at all the people that walks by. For bars - nothing special. For some discotecs you might have to dress up a bit.
The city tram connects all parts of the town and it is the best organized public transportation in Milano. The ticket cost 1 euro but there are also other options which are more convinient in price in case you're staying some time in the city.
If you are visiting Milano by car, I strongly recommend you to put it in some garage in the outskirts of the town and use city tram to get in the city centre.
