Good food in a good hotel
Jolly Hotel Machiavelli is not only a good hotel in a great location (see my tip): it also has a good restaurant. One more reason to go!
I rarely eat in hotel restaurants but sometimes you're just too lazy or tired to go anywhere, so I said: the hell with it.
And how surprised I was: the ravioli pasta with cheese and artichokes were really tasty, and the combination platter of local cheese was exactly how I would have done it: two fresh cheese bits, two medium and two savoury.
The wine list is okay, but some of the featured wines weren't available when I visited. They had a couple of half-bottles, which is a definite plus for the frequent lonely customers.
The service is close to impeccable, in good Machiavelli style. Dishes come timely, waiters are polite and do everything they can to accommodate your requests.
Definitely worth a try, though it won't come cheap. I paid 40 euros for a two-course dinner, and this can rise if you go for a main course. The ravioli pasta was absolutely delicious.
